Appitt respects your privacy, and we understand the importance of the information you entrust to us. This Privacy Policy explains our practices concerning the information collected, used and disclosed by Appitt LLC in connection with all our services, online products, websites, and mobile applications (collectively, the "Services") or when you otherwise interact with Appitt LLC.

We will continually evaluate this Privacy Policy against new technologies, business practices, and our users’ needs, and may make changes to the Privacy Policy accordingly.  Please check this page periodically for any updates.  If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post the updated Privacy Policy here, along with its effective date, and in some cases, notify you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our websites' homepages or sending you a notification). We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy whenever you access the Services to stay informed about our information practices and the ways you can help protect your privacy. Each version of this Privacy Policy will be identified by its effective date and any problems that may occur will be directed to the most updated policy.

Collection of Information

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you provide directly to us. For example, we collect information when you create an account, your preferences and settings, use the Services to send or receive messages, including photos taken via our Services ("Messages”) and content sent via the chat screen ("Chats"), when you share content on the posts screen (“Posts”), or request customer support or otherwise communicate with us. The types of information we may collect include your username, password, email address, and any other information you choose to provide (i.e. phone number, Facebook name, etc.).

When you send or receive messages, we also temporarily collect, process and store the contents of those messages on our servers. Once all members of a chat have deleted a message, it automatically deletes from our servers. Please note that we cannot guarantee that deletion of any message always occurs within a particular time frame. We also cannot prevent others from making copies of your messages (for example–but not limited to–taking a screenshot). You should not use Cicret to send messages if you want to be absolutely certain that the recipient cannot keep a copy.

Information We Collect From Other Sources

We may also obtain information from other sources and combine that with information we collect through our Services.

Use of Information

We may use information about you for various purposes, including to:

Verify your eligibility for our Services;

         Provide, maintain and improve our Services, including to provide additional features and content for your messages;

         Provide and deliver the products and services you request;

         Respond to your comments, questions and requests, and provide customer service;

         Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts and support and administrative messages;

         Communicate with you about products, services, promotions, rewards, events offered by our Services and others, and provide news and information we think will be of interest to you;

Provide you with customer support;

         Monitor and analyze trends, usage and activities in connection with our Services;

         Personalize and improve the Services and provide advertisements, content or features that match user profiles or interests;

         Link or combine with information we get from others to help understand your needs and provide you with better service;

            Comply with applicable legal demands, laws, and Apple’s regulations;

         Detect, investigate and/or prevent fraudulent, unauthorized or illegal activity; and

         Carry out any other purpose for which the information was collected.

 

Cicret is based in the United States and the information we collect is governed by U.S. law. By accessing or using the Services or otherwise providing information to us, you consent to the processing and transfer of information in and to the U.S. and other countries.

Being Anonymous

The fact that you can send messages without other people knowing who you are is part of what makes Cicret unique and so much fun. It means that you can message people that you might be too embarrassed or shy to talk to if anyone knew it was you. People are often bolder and more honest when they are anonymous, whether sending a message anonymously, or replying to a message when they don't know who's sent it.

Some people may try to abuse the option to be anonymous by bullying others by being mean and saying awful things because they know their identity is hidden, but we will take steps to stop them from spoiling it for everyone else.

We may assist the Police or other law enforcement agencies with their requests to the extent required by law – otherwise, we will not tell anyone who you are if you want to remain anonymous.

Occasionally, a member may ask us if we can tell them the username of someone who sent them an anonymous message. We may not give you the username of an anonymous messenger, but you may report them and we will look into the situation.

Sharing of Information

We may share information about you as follows or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy:

         With other users when you send them messages, including your username and the contents of the chat you send them;

         When you use Find Friends to add your friends, we will be looking through the device’s phonebook. But in cases where someone else who has your contact uses the “Find Friends” feature, we will share the fact that your username is associated with a contact, but we will not display your phone number to these users;

         With users and others who view your profile, which includes your username and a profile picture if you choose to provide;

         With vendors, consultants and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf;

         In response to legal process or a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with any applicable law, rule, or regulation, or as otherwise required by any applicable law, rule or regulation;

         In order to investigate or remedy potential violations of our user agreements or policies, or to protect the rights, property and safety of Cicret, our users or others;

         In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company; and

         We may share your data with our service providers who process your personal information to provide services to us or on our behalf. Our service providers are prohibited from sharing the information about you that they collect or that we provide to them with anyone else, or using it for other purposes.

Security Information

We take reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.

Children under 13

The Services are not intended for users under the age of 13.  We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a user submitting information is under 13 years old, we will attempt to delete the information as soon as possible. You hereby represent that you are at least 13 years old.

Privacy Settings

Through settings in our Services, you have the ability to delete messages from your chats or to report specific users at any time by using controls within our Services.

Account Information

Unless otherwise required by law or for legitimate business purposes, we will make good-faith efforts to correct your personal information when you notify us of an error or a change. To prevent unauthorized changes, we ask individual customers to positively identify themselves before we process such requests.

We reserve the right to decline to process certain requests that require a disproportionate technical or practical cost or effort or that could jeopardize the privacy of others or infringe upon ours rights or property.

You may update or correct information about yourself by editing your account settings within our Services. If you wish to delete your account you may also do that in the settings of our Services.

Device Information

Certain features of the Services require access to your device's native phonebook and image storage applications (e.g., to use the “Find Friends” feature, or to send a photo from your photo gallery via a Message). If you choose to use the “Find Friends” feature, the names and phone numbers in your device's native phonebook will be transmitted to Cicret. If you later decide to revoke your consent and prevent us from continuing to access your phonebook and image storage applications, you can do so by either changing the settings on your device, if this settings option is provided by your device operating system, or by following the standard uninstall process and removing our Services from your device. On iOS devices, you can grant or revoke your consent at any time and prevent us from continuing to access your phonebook and image storage applications by changing the settings on your device.

Push Notifications/Alerts

We may send push notifications or alerts to your device. You can deactivate these messages at any time by changing the notification settings on your device.
